HorseShows.uk is a free directory of horse events across the UK. It helps riders find events near them and sends them straight to the organiser's own website.
What we do
We list horse events in the UK that ordinary riders can enter: shows, competitions, clinics, camps, fun rides, and hunting meets. For each one we show the same few facts: what it is, when it is, where it is, and a link to the organiser's own page.
All we do is send you to the venue or club
Every listing links straight to the venue's or club's own website. That is where you enter and pay. We are not the entry site. We take no money, no cut and no commission from anyone, riders or venues. Listing is free.
How we do it
- A venue or club tells us once where its dates are online, or we find them on its public events page.
- Simple tools spot new dates on that page.
- A real person checks and confirms each date before it goes live.
- The listing shows the facts above and a link to the organiser's own page.
- When you tap "Details & entries", you go to the organiser's own site. Nothing is passed through us.
We only list public facts
We show what is happening, where, and a link to the organiser's own page. That is all. These are facts the venue or organiser has already made public themselves, like an events page in a newspaper.
We don't copy photos, logos or documents. We don't show the names, email addresses or phone numbers of individual people. We don't ask visitors to sign up or tell us who they are. We tidy titles so they read the same way across the site.
Why this works for venues and clubs
Every click sends a rider to the organiser's own page, for free. We never sit between the organiser and the rider.
Our tool, and how it behaves
The simple tool that spots dates calls itself HorseShowsBot and says so every time it visits (HorseShowsBot/1.0, with a link to this page and our email address). It first reads a site's robots.txt and keeps to it. If a site asks not to be read by bots, or says anywhere that its content must not be copied or collected, we leave that site alone. It visits one page at a time, at least 5 seconds apart, no more than once a day, and only takes the event name, date, discipline, venue name, postcode and link. It never takes descriptions, photos, logos, phone numbers or email addresses.
Keeping it right
If a date or detail is out of date, or you spot a mistake, use the "Spot a mistake?" link on any event, or email us, and we will correct it quickly.
What we don't do
We don't run the events, sell entries or take payments. We are independent of the venues, clubs and organisations we list.
Some things are deliberately left out or kept simple:
- For a championship or final that you can only enter by qualifying, we show the date and place only, with no link, so everyone can avoid clashes.
