Who we are

Horse Shows UK (horseshows.uk) is a community noticeboard for horse shows and events. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, and your choices. If anything here is unclear, email hello@horseshows.uk.

No account or sign-up needed

You don't need to register or log in to use Horse Shows UK, and we don't ask for any personal details to search or browse.

The only time we ask for personal details is if you use the "Missing a venue or event" form to tell us about a venue or event. There we ask for your name and email address (and, if you like, whether you're the organiser, from the venue, or a rider or spectator) so we can get back to you if we have a question about your submission. We keep these with your submission and use them only to follow it up. We don't add you to any mailing list and we don't share your details.

Information we collect

We keep simple, anonymous usage statistics so we can see whether the site is useful and which shows people are interested in:

• A count of page views.
• When you click "Take me to the booking page" / "To Event Page" on a listing, we record which show, venue, and discipline was clicked — not who clicked it.

None of this is tied to your name, email, IP address, or any other identifier. We can't tell one visitor from another from this data.

Postcode search

If you search by postcode, that postcode is sent to postcodes.io, a free, open UK postcode lookup service, to convert it into a location for distance sorting. We don't store the postcode you search — it's only used for that one search. If you use "Use My Location" instead, your device asks your browser for permission first, and that location is used the same way — for that search only, not stored by us.

Links to other sites

Every listing links out to the venue's own website or booking page so you can enter or find out more. Those sites are run by the venues themselves, not by us — once you leave horseshows.uk, their own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Children

Horse Shows UK isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
