Our Promise

A calendar where every date carries the same red rosette

Fair for every show. Fair for every rider.

HorseShows.uk exists to answer one simple question: what's on near me?

Whether it's a championship at a county showground or a handful of classes in a village field, every show deserves to be found. So we've made some promises about how this site works, and we're putting them in writing so you can hold us to them.

Why we're doing this

Horse numbers are down, and every show feels it. At the same time, finding shows is much harder than it should be. Dates are spread across dozens of different websites, entry systems and social media pages, and unless you know exactly where to look, you miss them.

So riders naturally settle into one place, one venue or one entry system, and stick with it. That's understandable, but it means plenty of good shows go unnoticed, and riders miss out on venues and classes they'd love.

We want to make it easy to find the shows you want to go to, wherever they're listed, and to encourage riders to spread their wings a little. When more riders get out to more shows, everyone benefits: organisers, venues and the sport as a whole.

That only works if every show is in it and everyone can see it.

Our promises

1. Every show is treated equally.

Shows are sorted by date, distance and discipline, and nothing else. A small unaffiliated show sits exactly where it belongs, alongside the biggest names in the sport.

2. We send you to the organiser.

We don't take entries. Every listing links straight to the organiser or their chosen entry system, so you enter the way you always have.

3. We don't scrape other websites.

We don't copy dates automatically from other sites or entry systems. Every listing is added by hand or sent in by the organiser, and every one links back to its source. The platforms that run shows and take entries do a valuable job. We're here to help people find them, not to replace them.

For organisers: pick a date that doesn't clash

Nobody wants three shows in the same area on the same Saturday, each splitting the same riders between them. With every show in one place, organisers can see what's already on nearby before they fix a date, and choose one that gives their show the best chance.

Fewer clashes mean fuller classes, better entries and more riders out for everyone.

Two calendars: three shows crammed onto one Saturday, and the same three shows spread across three weekends

Grassroots matter

Most of the equestrian year doesn't happen under floodlights. It happens at local shows run by volunteers, clubs and local committees: the places where riders get their first rosette and where most of us fell in love with the sport. They're also the shows that are hardest to find.

HorseShows.uk is built for them as much as for the big names.

Help us keep it accurate

Every date on the site is added and checked by a person. If you spot a mistake, or a show that's missing, please tell us and we'll put it right.
